October 6th - THE EAZY PEAZY WEEKLY - Prayers for our Yuki!

Hey Friend -

Coffee. I absolutely love it. No apologies for what is most likely my overconsumption of it, either. And I like it black, zero nonsense added. My wonderful husband makes a big pot every morning. Some for him. Aaaaalll the rest for me.

And now… some for my oldest, who also only appreciates it black. Which means I am suddenly forced to share. Let me tell you - I am not the best sharer.

Want to know when I am a sharer? When I find the someone who suggested to my wonderful husband that this coffee is delicious and should be tried. Because when I find that person, oh, I have many, many things to say. Most of them not printable in this family-friendly newsletter. In the meantime, I’ll sip my own cup, practice grace (sort of), and strongly consider banning all future coffee-related decisions from the male personnel of my household.

P.S. What’s your coffee style? Strong and black? Or are you a “dessert in a cup” kind of person? Bonus points if you also skip Starbucks. 😉

Our oldest spent the weekend with Arn “hunting” in a secret location… which, judging by the results, was also super secret to the animals themselves. 😂 I like to call it armed hiking, since once again they came home skunked. Sorry gents, truth hurts. LOL.

But here’s the thing, at the crux of it, the trip wasn’t really about filling the freezer (or so I am telling myself). It was about the two of them having that much-needed time together out in the wild. And that’s exactly where our oldest thrives (well, besides a lacrosse field, of course).

I spent the week cranking out Pineapple Chicken Fried Rice for our MRG production (and yes, it smelled as good as it sounds). But you already knew that...

We ended up selling most of what we produced in a day, PLUS, we received a glowing review - always grateful when the love comes back our way!

Come Hang Out with Me Saturday!
This Saturday, 12–3pm (before the game kicks off), I’ll be at Outdoor Exchange sampling MRGs.

It’s a double win:

You get to taste my meals AND you get to explore one of the coolest locally owned outdoor gear + clothing shops (shoutout to my friend who owns it).

Truth: my backpacking shirts, jacket, nalgene, canisters, and hat are all from Outdoor Exchange. Total obsession. Come check it out, you’ll leave with food in your belly and gear you didn’t know you needed.

Confession time: I have a sickness.

It’s called the inability to say NO. 🙃

But honestly, I just love serving too much. So here we go again - doing what I LOOOOVE (have we established that yet, I LOVE this!!) - making sandwiches, cutting fruit, and whipping up desserts for the Bishop Kelly JV Football Team.

Let’s gooooo boys!!! 🏈💛🖤

The JV game? Winner, winner, chicken dinner! Our young man absolutely killed it with 2 interceptions and a handful of other stats I could gush about all day (but I’ll spare you… for now ). Proud mom moment times a thousand.

Then came Varsity. And when I say it poured, I mean BUCKETS. My “rain jacket” turned out to be about 70% rain-proof. Which meant my arms were so soaked they were basically their own water feature. I, of course, was dramatically lamenting this jacket disaster the entire way home, waiting for the sympathy train for poor Mom. Instead, the men of my household decided logic was the better answer. Apparently, my return window had “expired” PLUS I should probably think of back-up solutions in the future. (Insert my giant mom-eye-roll here 🙄).

Oh, and speaking of Varsity, our youngest crushed it too with two BIG tackles. One of them (if you ask me, and you should) was a touchdown-stopper. Yep. Mama proud all over again.

This is my sweet baby girl, Yuki. Yes, we have three pups, and yes, you’re never supposed to have favorites… but maybe, just maybe, she’s mine. She’s the kindest, most loyal little soul, forever my shadow, forever my girl. She may not always be the brightest bulb (let’s just say she’s loyalty over brains and beauty), but she’s all heart, and she’s woven herself into ours completely.

This week, she started limping. At first, I thought it was just a sore paw pad. But then suddenly, she wouldn’t put any weight on her foot. Yesterday we couldn’t even coax her off the couch. So Arn and I? We slept there with her, all night long, until we could get her into the vet this morning. Because when your baby hurts, you do whatever it takes.

So I’m asking for prayers.

Prayers for no tumors, no broken bones, no scary stuff. Just quick healing, and our Yuki-girl back home with us where she belongs. Our hearts won’t feel whole until she’s back.

SEE YOU MONDAY - OCTOBER 6TH!!

Anf just know, I see you standing in the kitchen at 5:30, the kids asking, “What’s for dinner?” while your brain is juggling a hundred other things. You want so badly to sit down at the table, breathe for a minute, and actually enjoy a meal with your family, but the stress of planning, shopping, and chopping gets in the way. It's always about the crazy.

That’s exactly why I started this. Not just meals - solutions. Meals that are already prepped, clean, and real, so you can go from chaos to dinner done in under 25 minutes. No guilt. No guesswork. Just food you feel good about serving, and a little piece of your evening back.

I know it’s hard to take the leap, but I promise, it can change the rhythm of your nights. Dinner doesn’t have to be another battle. It can be where you reconnect, laugh, and exhale. Make memories.

So if you’ve been watching and waiting, this is me, your fellow mom, saying: try it. For you. For your family. You deserve this peace.

Cheers,
Nikki
