October 20th - THE EAZY PEAZY WEEKLY - Just another week we do!

Hey Friend -

I think we can all agree, I travel a bit. Maybe “a lot.” And with that comes plenty of people watching, odd travel habits, and if I’m being brutally honest… plenty of travel annoyances.

I was recently sitting at the airport surrounded by what I lovingly refer to as The Oblivious Ones, you know the type. The loud talkers, the throat and nose clearers, the speakerphone conversationalists (because we all apparently need to know about your cousin’s cat’s surgery), and the folks who seem completely unaware that they’re sharing public space with hundreds of other humans. There was even a gal doing full-on nail art, intricate designs with teeny brushes and gems. It was oddly captivating, like watching someone paint Fabergé eggs in the hussle and bustle WHILE boarding our Delta flight.

And let me tell you, on a red-eye, it’s as if every irritating travel habit joins forces for one grand performance, keeping me wide awake, questioning my life choices or at least time travel. Because this flight is soon to become my new normal, if it's not already.

One of these days I keep telling myself I am going to write a book or blog just on WHAT NOT TO DO when traveling and keep it super simple for first time travelers or infrequent travelers.

And where are we off to this time? Queens University!

RJ had his Media Day, a scrimmage, and a sleepover with the 2026 commits. I kept calling it a “slumber party” - which, apparently, is not the preferred term among teenage boy athletes. But once I saw his reaction, obviously I had to keep saying it, duh!

All the 2026 commits stayed in the dorms, had a campus tour (maybe a party), the next morning showed off their skills with a clinic, and then it was straight back to the airport for a long trip home to Boise.

But here’s the thing...with tears in our eyes, we couldn’t be more proud of Big Man and the journey he’s on. We watched him settle in with a sense of peace and confidence that told us: these are his people. This is his place. His family and brotherhood for the next four years. He’s exactly where he’s meant to be, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Way to go, kiddo. We love you forever and more.

And HUGE BONUS, guess who met us there?? The one and only, Papa.

He’s had a few health issues lately, and we honestly weren’t sure he’d be able to make it. But after RJ told me, “Papa was here when this journey started… he should be here to finish it,” I couldn’t not tell him.

And wouldn’t you know it, he showed up. Surprised RJ, and yep… cue all the tears.

It’s Homecoming week, wooohooo!

Both boys have shot up like weeds, so off to shopping with my Mom we went. I thought I had it handled because, you see, I have this magical “men’s dress-up closet” in the house, the one-stop shop for anything remotely dressy. Need a jacket? Pants? A tie from 2004? Boom, it’s in there.

But apparently, my system is falling apart. Arn used to be the generous lender, sharing with the boys like a department store. Now? He’s asking them for clothes. RJ, who I swore was still a 38 jacket, ended up walking out in a 40L - whoopsies, my bad. And poor Nathan could barely swallow in the shirt I “knew” would fit… turns out that 15-inch neck needed to be a 16-something. Total mom fail!! But my favorite part was watching the boys work together to find just the right fit and style.

Now Arn and I are in logistics mode trying to divide and conquer so we can make it to both sets of pictures and all the must-do senior parent moments . And honestly, can someone just hit pause already? I need time to sloooooow dooooown.

Yuki continues to improve and we couldn't be happier to see her happy again. The GINORMOUS cone of shame is still taking every opportunity to wreak descruction on the house, but her favorite is giving loves to all of us regardless of its intrusion. Our sweet baby girl!

SEE YOU MONDAY - OCTOBER 20TH!!

One season’s wrapping up and another’s already gearing up — story of our lives, right? Between the practices, games, and everything in between, the weeks fly by faster than a fourth-quarter comeback. Before we know it, this year will be over, and I can’t help but wonder… when you look back, what moments will stand out? The late nights hustling to throw dinner together, or the laughter around the table after a big win (or loss), the sideline chats, the family moments that make it all worth it?

Dinner shouldn’t be the thing that steals those moments. That’s exactly why I do what I do, to help you get real food on the table, fast, so you can spend your evenings living, not scrambling.

Let’s make these last few months count, more connection, more memories, and a lot less stress about what’s for dinner.

Cheers,
Nikki
