Well… this is coming at you fast and furious because the real email that was supposed to go out? Yeah. It got erased. Good times, right? So here we go, round two, caffeine-fueled and powered by sheer determination.
Lucky for you, there’s plenty happening - fall food favorites, community giving, and a few behind-the-scenes stories from the chaos that is my world right now (aka sports, meals, and maybe a little mom meltdown sprinkled in).
Let’s dive in, before this email disappears too. 😂
1️⃣ Special Olympics Gala:
I was invited to attend with my KTVB crew and WOW WOW WOW - what a night. Every single athlete there could outshine most professional speakers. Their joy, confidence, and love were contagious. Such a gift to witness, and an incredible reminder of what true inspiration looks like. And what a blessing to hear from the parents of athletes, their perspective and the sense of relief this amazing organziation has given them. 💛
2️⃣ Salvation Army Luncheon-Gala:
Talk about impact. That red kettle? It does way more than you think - never pass one by! The best part? It was the day before Halloween, completely Christmas-themed, and served Thanksgiving dinner. 😂 A triple-holiday mashup I didn’t know I needed. Surrounded by friends (and new friends), most of us were KTVB at the table, this opportunity really opened my eyes to the cycle of poverty and their mission to break it. I’m honestly so moved by their mission. Praying and manifesting that I’ll get the chance to teach cooking classes with them soon. 🙏
3️⃣ Halloween:
Your girl was a caution cone. Yep. Bright orange, reflective tape, the whole thing. “CAUTION: CRAZY MOM COMING THROUGH!” 🚧😜
4️⃣ BK Football:
Little Big Man played in BOTH varsity playoff games - and they won big! On to Skyview we go. Keep those prayers coming, the energy in those stands is wild! 🏈
5️⃣ Travel Chaos (Because of Course):
Right after the game, no time for a shower and maybe a little helmet head, we hustled to the airport because Little Man had a lacrosse tournament in Baltimore and Delaware. We sent him solo on the red-eye flight (he’s a pro at this point), meeting up with his coach while my dad flew in for a quick 24-hour stint. The flight was delayed for 30 minutes but not canceled - hallelujah! Now just praying tonight’s Philly–Minni–Boise flight goes smoothly. ✈️ I will say, the Boise airport was eerily quiet, ghost town like. And before you say, it's the red-eye flight and too late for people, this flight is normally packed. Every seat is usually taken. It was SO open, almost everyone had a row to themselves. That. Is. Crazy! And Arn and I walking out, back to our cars, we were seriously the only two people (aside from the two gate agents) in the entire hallway until we reached baggage claim. So so weird and wild.
And that, my friends, was the week that felt like a month. Missing from the write-up, all the doctors appointments (had a small scare with Big Man, but he is all good), a moldy lunch found between pillows in the bonus room (grrrrrrr!), and a car needing some work which put us down a vehicle with 4 busy individuals. (1st world problems, I know!)
Sending love, prayers, and a reminder that even in the chaos, there’s so much good. 💛
Have a blessed week - and remember, we’re always here for you.
